With the improving shipping industry in the economic prosperity world,the number of vessels increased a lot.At same time,the traffic at sea became busier,especially in some narrow channels,the density of traffic flow was unexpectedly high.How to improve the single direction vessels formation appeared the realistic problem to be dealt with.For decreasing risk of communication and increasing efficiency of transportation.this paper makes a study on single direction vessels formation theory based on previous inland river and land transportation traffic flow theory.As the result of experiment,the single direction vessels formation theory can be used in practice.Research work in this paper focuses on the following aspects:Analyze ship-following theory and model,formulate the following differential equation,and then transform the frame of equation to speed as dependent vary by mathematic way;Quantify the parameters of equation by samples data and statistic software,which the data of samples were acquired from ship-following fleet in reality;Count the critical speed by the parameter fixed equation;Formulate the ship-following safe space model based on the car-following safe space theory and the ship-following safe space model at river,Which safe space between ships decided by the critical speed;Simulation experiment at BAYUQUAN port.
