With the progress of the economy,the shipbuilding industry is steadily developing.And China has made great strides.And the demand for ships has increased considerably.The data of ship power plant design is more perfect,but the design of ship intake and exhaust system is less.Meanwhile,the design of intake and exhaust system is generally estimated by experience or some theoretical formulas,lacking data support.The simulation method can effectively get the results of the velocity field,pressure field and sound field of the piping system,and provide the theoretical basis and effective reference value for the design of the intake and exhaust system.And the method can propose the optimization scheme,reduce the resistance,and improve the economic performance of the Marine power plant.The design of four typical ships intake and exhaust system are the outside air intake system,the cabin intake system with ventilation system,the chimney exhaust system and the outboard exhaust system,based on the preliminary principle and method design,the design selection of typical parts,and the rationality of the overall design to calculate and analyze the design scheme,the design analysis is given according to different design characteristics of different types of intake and exhaust system.Finally the precautions for the design of intake and exhaust system are summarized.This paper summarizes the design principles of diesel engine intake and exhaust system and ventilation system.The design concept of intake and exhaust system is expounded in general,and the main points of the design are summarized according to the characteristics of ship piping system,then the classification and typical components of the general diesel intake and exhaust systems are studied,and the design characteristics of different intake and exhaust systems are analyzed.The design steps of intake and exhaust system are putting forward,and the determination of total ventilation quantity are given,and the design optimization method is given for the typical parts such as pipe diameter,joint,intake chamber,filter,muffler and elbow with enhancing the aerodynamic performance and acoustic performance of each component.The four typical systems are simulated and analyzed which are the outside air intake system,the cabin intake system with ventilation system,the chimney exhaust system and the outboard exhaust system,and the flow field,velocity field distribution and acoustic transmission loss are analyzed with getting the design of proper requirements.
