Research On Hunan Traditional Clan Village Under The Perspective Of Meme

Traditional village is material accumulation and vivid carrier of Chinese traditional culture.It is a concentrated expression of survival wisdom and social emotion and witnesses of history and cultural heritage.Chinese society is in transition period of new type of urbanization,urban and rural structure development presents complexity and particularity.Traditional villages are in serious crisis of hollowing,homogeneity and wanderlust.The contradiction between traditional village preservation and rapid social development will be the chief focus in Chinese urban development process.Cultural renaissance is the key to national rejuvenation.The theory of meme which refers to cultural gene causes review of traditional village culture connotation.As the core of the village social organizations and units,clan has the spatial corresponding relation with village space form and has more unique space characteristics and cultural characteristics.Traditional culture lies deep in the countryside and villages.Due to the impact of industrialization,urbanization and agricultural modernization,and the lack of protection system,many traditional villages is increasingly declining even fade away.Meme exists attached to traditional villages,if traditional villages disappeared,traditional culture cannot spread to later generations.From the perspective of meme,this paper analyses the formation background and basic characteristics of traditional clan villages,combs culture genes of traditional clan village,thus providing basic elements for the preservation and inheritance of traditional village.Based on the current social reality and era characteristics,it is of great significance for the inheritance of traditional culture,the continuation of the network context and retaining historical memory,in order to set up cultural consciousness and self-confidence,to protect cultural ecology and cultural diversity.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter has been clear about the research background,research significance,the domestic and foreign related research trends,research contents and methods.As the basis of this article,Chapter 2 defines the concept of meme and traditional clan villages,interprets their respective basic characteristics and the cultural gene intrinsic mechanism.Based on memetics,cultural anthropology,cultural geography,cultural acculturation,symbolic ritual theory,social space theory,this chapter discusses the meaning of traditional clan village while introducing cultural gene into the research.The third chapter is interpreting the formation,distribution,spatial characteristics and cultural characteristics of the traditional clan village in Hunan.Meme of traditional clan village are classified and cultural gene spectrum diagram are built as basic elements of its preservation and inheritance basis.The fourth chapter analyses traditional clan village space form.With the method of the typology,in the material level,whole space pattern,the pattern of streets,residential shape,sacred space,environmental elements and other space form elements of traditional clan village are analysed.In the nonphysical level,this chapter deeply mines cultural genes which influence its spatial form elements,stating its space form features,spiritual connotation and cultural connotation.According to the present situation of the bottlenecks of traditional clan village preservation and inheritance,it puts forward the corresponding preservation and inheritance paths and modes in the perspective of cultural gene.Chapter 5 selects Banliang village,the most intact traditional village in southern Hunan as a case study,analyses its cultural gene and spatial characteristic.According to present situation of preservation and inheritance,this chapter extracts the cultural gene elements to explore its preservation and inheritance strategies.
