Constrained by its geographical location,production environment and so on,the cost of marine drilling platform is high and the process of building and installation is of great complexity.Therefore,it requires higher design containerization,during the process of design and construction,integration of design and construction,information management,digitally simulated construction and multidisciplinary collaboration.Through the project of MCC NO.1 3000-hp marine drilling rigs,the complete set of modular construction based on BIM technology has been studied,which plays an important role in the efficiency of marine drilling platform,construction cost reduction and intelligent development,in this paper.This paper analyses the features of drilling rig assembly which are much crossover operations,compact layout,small workspace and complexity of assembly.And considers rework occurred by pipe collision and unfeasible assembly sequences during the assembly of drilling rig,high material loss and project cost under construction.Using BIM technology monitored the implementation of project.According to the characteristics of this project,it applied environmental technology,BIM modeling technology and aided application technology to solve these problems and it implemented 3D collision detection between the structures,appliances and piping,automatic extraction of material and equipment engineering quantity,3D technical disclosure of construction technology and safety management,and also quality traceability of material,component and fittings.
