Underwater acoustic ranging beacon is a kind of important equipment for detecting the distance and position of underwater targets.This beacon is installed in the object that sailing in the water,and the emitted signal from beacon is received by the array which is fixed at the bottom of the sea.After processing the received signal,the distance between array and object is obtained.The main research of this paper is that design and build an underwater acoustic ranging beacon for the actual ranging system.In this paper,the ranging principle of underwater acoustic ranging beacon is analyzed firstly,and then,the ranging process is given.Based on the functional requirements for the underwater acoustic ranging beacon,the technical indicators are proposed.Finally,according to the actual project requirements,the system structure is designed,and the overall design scheme of the underwater acoustic ranging beacon is decided.According to the functional requirements,in this paper,the control unit is designed firstly based on the low power consumption MCU MSP430 whose producer is TI.Then the detection switch into the water is designed by MOSFET consider to the work environment of the beacon.For improving the efficiency of power consumption,all kinds of circuit forms of power amplifier are analyzed,and the transmit circuit is designed based on D amplifier circuit,then transformer parameters are calculated,and the protection circuit is designed.In order to improve the ranging accuracy,the clock synchronization circuit is designed by high precision atomic clock DS_SA.45 s.A serial port communication circuit is designed for communication between the beacon and the computer,and a power supply circuit is designed in the same time based on the power supply requirement of the system.Finally,according to the functional requirements for the beacon,the software program is made,and the joint debugging of software and hardware is completed.The experiments and tests are performed in laboratory,free-field pool,and lake.The results shows that the performance of the ranging beacon is reliable,the work is stable,and the technical indicators are achieved the expected design requirements.
