Although energy is the original driving element of architecture design,it is often taken as a sub-level factor in the generating architecture form.This paper takes energy flow as the pointcut,re-establishing the relationship between the architecture form and energy flow under the condition of sustainable development.Then the methods of architecture form generating based on energy flow,and concrete operation methods of transforming energy into architecture visual language are put forward.Firstly,the evolution history of architecture is resorted in four stages including the energy prototype and development,closed energy system,simple energy awareness and the holistic view of architecture on energy.Then establishing the architecture form generating mechanism which is stated from 4 aspects: energy capture,energy delivery,energy feedback and so on under the basic principle of energy transfer.With the basic methods of case study,graphical analysis and software simulation,form generation methods are discussed specifically from the view of mass,space and surface : seeking the mass boundary and strategies of mass optimization elaborate the specific methods of generating architecture external contour,taking energy as the control factor;The surface energy adjustment starts from the complex function of surface,and is explained from 3 aspects of architecture surface: the overall strategy of dealing with energy,material construction and climate response.The main results of this paper are as follows: Re-examining the impact of energy within the subject,expanding the scope of research and enriching the architecture design methodology;sorting the methods of architecture generating form based on energy flow,summarizing the form generation process as "energy environment analysis-strategy selection-energy evaluation feedback".Architecture practice would be guided with this paper,and take a positive attitude to cope with the present complex environment and meet the basic requirements of the sustainable development of architecture.
