With the continuous improvement of information and automation,power,communications,finance and other industries on the uninterruptible power supply system increasingly stringent requirements.VRLA batteries are widely used as backup batteries due to their excellent properties.VRLA battery is the last guarantee of power supply,once the failure,will likely bring serious accidents.Therefore,it is very important for VRLA battery users to find battery capacity drop and deal with battery failure in time.Backup power supply of distribution automation terminal is a typical application of back battery.The online monitoring and management of distribution automation terminal battery backup power supply for research and design,presents a back battery online monitoring and activation system,online testing,online storage battery activation and remote monitoring.This paper first describes the structure principle of lead-acid battery electrode failure mechanism,discusses the battery on-line monitoring and activation of the actual demand,aiming at the existing problems in the operation of backup battery,and puts forward some effective solutions to battery online monitoring and activation system.Then,according to the system requirements,the design and implementation of the hardware and software of the on line monitoring and activation system of the backup battery are given.The hardware circuit includes the main controller and its peripheral circuit,key display unit,controllable charging unit,controllable discharge unit,charge discharge voltage measuring unit,a switching unit,a current measuring unit and temperature measuring unit etc..System software discusses the software design and implementation of charge and discharge control module,parameter monitoring module,data analysis and processing module and communication module.Finally,the on-line test and activation system of battery is tested and analyzed.The experimental results show that the whole system works well,and the accuracy and real-time of the measurement data meet the design requirements.
