Air Filter Paper And Its Flame Retardant Modification

Air filter paper is the core material of the filter element,which is mainly used to remove impurities in the air,to prevent engine wear,and to extend its service life.At the same time,as the car engine is developing from natural suction type to turbocharged engine,the engine will work under high pressure and temperature.In this case,because air filter paper in a supercharged air intake system in the turbine parts,the air filter paper must be have a certain flame retardancy.Furthermore,in recent years,due to air filter paper burning accidents caused by the high temperature cylinder and hot reflux and so on,more and more engine manufacturers propose higher request on flame-retardant properties of air filter paper.In this paper,a kind of nitrogen phosphorus synergistic flame retardant air filter paper has been developed,and the filter paper has good flame resistance and good filtration performance and physical properties.The main contents and results are as follows:1.Study on the air filter paper influence factorsThe pulping performance of two basic wood pulp of base paper and commonly used glass fiber,the physical properties and filtration performance after styrene acrylic emulsion coated on the base paper were studied.The different mixed emulsion liquid retention effect on the performance of air filter paper and on the physical and filtration properties after adding water resistance were investigated.2.Flame retardant modification of the air filter paperGuanidine sulfamate and guanidine phosphate synergistic flame retardant agent was added into the styrene acrylic emulsion,which was coated on the filter paper to get flame retardant air filter paper.The flame retardant filter paper had the self extinguishing time less than 15 seconds,and the combustion char length less than 15 cm,reaching F1 level according to the vertical burning test(DIN 53438).On the other hand,the ratio of synergistic flame retardant and the minimum amount added,and the effect of the ratio of synergistic flame retardant and styrene acrylic emulsion on the properties of the air filter paper were discussed.
