| Vessel violation phenomenon is one of the main threats of channel safety.With the increasing demand of freight demand,waterborne transportation gains its popularity as well as land transportation;however,the vessel violation also gets increasingly serous.Some vessels may modify their water gauge for pursuing their own benefits.Such violations would damage the navigation channel and interfere with other pass-by vessels.Some vessels may overspeed to reach the destiny sooner,which severely affects the traffic order.Some vessels are overheight to travel through certain water area,which also brings potential safety hazard.Therefore,to manage the confronted problem,real-time monitoring the travelling vessel is significantly necessary.Once a violation committed by a vessel is detected,the violation can be ceased immediately,which serves the benefits of both the marine supervision department and the vessels.Based on the issue,in the paper,the floating type vessel violation detection system with ultrasound sensor was developed against the installation requirement in the real scene.The system can precisely detect the vessel’s max draft value,the vessel speed and the vessel’s trajectory,thus,to achieve the real-time monitoring of vessel navigation in the Yangtze River waterway,lower the potential safety hazard caused by vessel over draft and overspeed,and protect the benefits of all related parties.The whole system includes 5 sub-systems:1)vessel draft detection sub-system;2)the vessel speed detection sub-system;3)the AIS data collection sub-system;4)the backend monitoring sub-system;and 5)the vessel violation information storage and inquiry sub-system.In the research,the vessel draft detection sub-system was designed with Altium Designer,which achieved the time-share launch and acceptance of sensor matrix,and the interference suppression;the dip angle senor was designed to perform data collection and monitoring of the detecting gate status;the vessel draft detection software was developed,which can compensate the deflection error in real time.The vessel violation detection information collection database was initially built,which contains all the detected vessel draft information,speed information,distance information and the violation tag;simultaneously the detected data will be saved to the vessel information database for marine personnel’s review.Through simulation experiments in the laboratory,field experiments with navigation vessels conducted in Dalian Maritime University’s Salvage House and the Dalian East Harbor,the result suggests that the floating type vessel violation detection system is able to meet the basic engineering requirement in reality. |
