With the development of China's economy and the improvement of technical level,the focus of our country's development has transferred from large-scale construction to new construction and reinforcement of existing buildings.That will result in greater investment efficiency when the reliability appraisal and reinforcement technology of building structures also gradually formed and developed.China is a big country in the application of masonry structure.However,the tensile and shear strength of masonry structure is terrible and its seismic performance is relatively poor so that the structures are badly damaged in earthquakes.Because of the fortification intensity zoning map and seismic design code of our country having been updated several times,the seismic fortification criterion of most areas has been raised accordingly that leads to many masonry structures which built before cannot meet the requirements of the current norms.Therefore,the seismic identification and strengthening of masonry structures are particularly important in our country where earthquakes occur frequently.In this paper,we check the existing masonry structure through the engineering examples according to the existing specifications,and then choosing the appropriate reinforcement scheme according to the conclusion of the identification.Finally,this thesis has a seismic checking to the strengthened structure.The main work of this article is as follows:This paper simply summarizes the present situation of seismic appraisal and reinforcement of masonry structure,defining the significance of structural reinforcement,illustrating the characteristics of masonry structure and summarizing the characteristics of seismic damage of masonry structure.This paper introduces a method of testing the strength of material of masonry structure,testing procedures and Two State Method using for Seismic Evaluation.The first evaluation should carry out comprehensive evaluation on Macro Control and Structural Identification when the second should focus on evaluating comprehensively and combining the Tectonic Influence.This paper introduces some common reinforcement methods such as reinforced cement mortar surface strengthening method and enlarged section method,etc.The strengthening design of the structure is carried out according to the seismic appraisal conclusions and suggestions.PKPM software is utilized to calculate the seismic resistance after strengthening and make the seismic performance indexes of the structure after strengthening satisfy the requirements of the current design code.Therefore,the strengthening scheme is effective and feasible.
