Recently,the desire of miniaturization of portable devices and micro process technology is becoming more and more intense.Traditional battery charging and storage can't satisfy our requirements.Considering the advantages of micro combustion like high energy density,easy to change the fuel,small volume,etc,micro combustion has gotten a lot of attention.However,even now,hard challenges still exist during the research of micro combustion,such as the stabilization and conversion rate of combustion.Aim at these challenges mentioned above,catalytic ignition and combustion on Pt/ZSM-5 were performed to investigate the characteristics of catalyst on propane combustion.We get the statistics like the minimum ignition voltage,combustion characteristics in different equivalence ratio,length of catalyst and velocity from experiments.We choose Pt/ZSM-5 as our catalyst,the load rate of Pt is 5.0%,the combustor is made of quart with inner diameter of 4mm,the results of catalytic ignition experiment in constant wall temperature condition shows:with the help of catalyst,the ignition temperature reach 143? when equivalence ratio 0=1 and gas velocity v=0.4m/s.The mixed gas react violently on the catalyst when the temperature of catalyst come up to 143 ?,and stabilized in 650?.In order to verify the ignition regularity and study the combustion effect of heat loss,we performed another ignition experiment with plasma ignition device.The results show that,plasma can ignite the mixed gas in room temperature effectively,the minimum ignition voltage is 80V when ?=1,v-0.4m/s.Comparing to wall heated ignition,the best ignition condition is also in the range of bigger equivalence ratio and velocity within 0.4-0.6m/s,but the difference is velocity has a close relationship with ignition energy.In the condition that the combustor's inner diameter is 4mm,the length of catalyst is 20mm,gas-phase reaction take place come with catalytic reaction.The zone of gas-phase reaction is at 10-30mm downstream the catalyst,and the parameters' range is concentrate on ?=1,v=1.0-1.6m/s and ?=1.2,v=1.2-1.6m/s.The temperature distribution of the combustor shows two peaks,the one is catalytic combustion and the other is gas-phase reaction,the gas-phase can also increase the conversion about 5%-10%,which is significant to the research of micro combustion.
