In recent years,more and more people choose the civil aviation for travel and transports.The aircraft industry and technology has improved as the rapid increase of air passenger and cargo transportation.Especially since the implementation of homemade regional and trunk jet,and large cargo aircraft projects,people focus more on safety and require recognizing for the aircraft safety.According to statistics,a major of aircraft accidents are due to the fire.The accidents damage of aircraft fire is severely,which burn the airplanes and cause lost in human life.Therefore,it is essential to research the aircraft fire safety.This article studies the anti-burn-through characteristics and test method of the aircraft skin of aluminum alloy plate,under the environment of aircraft crashes and the assumption of the oil pool fire due to a fuel leak from an aircraft fuel tank after a crash.The research plan is based on existing literature about the standard and development of anti-burn-through experiment methods for thermal/sound insulation materials.The article analyzes and studies the procedure and time of burn-through from the aspect of heat transfer mechanism under different dimension,thickness and structure.The structure of aluminum plate burn-through experiments includes a flat test piece of 90 degrees,a flat test piece of 60 degrees,a curved test piece of 90 degrees,and a curved test piece of 60 degrees.The dimension of test pieces includes 254x254 mm,610x610mm,and 1218x914 mm.The thickness of test pieces includes 1.6mm,2.0mm,and 3.5mm.Experiments illustrate that the burn-through process of aluminum alloy plate mainly undergoes plastic deformation,melting of aluminum plate,the outflow of molten aluminum,the appearance of the oxide film,cracking of oxide film,and burn-through of the aluminum plate.The burn-through process of aluminum plates of different sizes is different.The burnthrough time of the small-sized test piece is longer than the large-sized test piece because of the effects of flame coverage and boundary heat conduction.As the result of the uneven distribution of temperature and heat flow,a "crack" phenomenon occurs during the burn-through process of the curved aluminum plate.The burn-through time of curved aluminum plate is shorter than that of the flat aluminum plate with the difference of about 20 seconds.
