Substation is a place to change the voltage,is a very important part of the grid, once the substation equipment within the major equipment caused by lightning damage, will cause some power outages or large power outages,to the country a lot of economic losses,so research Substation lightning protection is of great significance. The only one 500 k V substation encountered a lightning strike fault,a number of 220 k V bus, line trip,if the station 220 k V power distribution device outage, will lead to 500 k V side voltage is too high, eventually resulting in the 500 k V substation outage serious consequences. It is necessary to analyze and design the anti-lightning design of the 500 k V substation and recommend the new optimization method of the anti-lightning design to ensure that Safe and stable operation of substation. This article analyzes and studies mainly from three aspects: First,it introduces the principle of anti-thunder-ray checking: the line-breaking method and the ball rolling method, and analyzes and compares the broken line method and the ball rolling method.Secondly, the preliminary design method of anti-direct lightning protection in substation is introduced. The range of the direct lightning protection of the 500 k V substation is calculated by the method of line drawing and the rolling ball method respectively. The calculation results of the two methods are compared and the lightning protection level of the station is quantitatively analyzed.Thirdly, according to the lightning protection calculation conclusion,it is recommended that the lightning protection design of the substation be rectified and optimized.
