Research On The Application Of Wood Texture In Chinese Style Interior Design

With the change of people 's thought,the ideas of "spiritual culture","ecology" and "sustainability" in interior space has been deeply rooted in people' s minds,and people begin to have more and more demands for interior designs,and in addition to functions,they gradually turn towards the spiritual dimension.This turn is mainly manifested in emotional designs and cultural representations,of which the most significant matter is the decoration material.Therefore,we need to analyze and explore the decoration materials.This thesis tries to obtain through extensive readings the relevant knowledge of wood and its relation with interior space designs,articulate the natural beauty of wood texture and their artistic form and aesthetic,and explore how to use wood texture to manifest people's emotions and their cultural spirit.Taking wood texture as its subject,this thesis concentrates on the applications of wood texture in Chinese-style interior designs by way of analyzing the formation of wood texture,their classifications and their cultural connotation.Meanwhile,based on the characteristics of wood texture and design principles,I extract some elements of wood texture and create a variety of patterns to investigate the creative and extensive use of wood texture.The exploration and application of wood texture is in essence the use of wood's non-material properties.Wood contains different forms of textures.Its rich artistic content not only can meet people's spiritual needs but also can broaden the use of wood and provide new opportunities for the development of interior space designs.And this would reduced the use of wood material to a certain extent and protect the trees,which is certainly in accordance with the “sustainable development " and ecological requirements.
