The contradiction between the rapid growth of fuel demands and energy structure has become increasingly prominent, resulting in environmental pollution and economic situation has been a serious challenge. Therefore, the study of new vehicle fuels to solve the problem of traditional fuel shortage can not only reduce the consumption of primary energy, but also can make it significantly reduced of pollutant emissions. However,it can not be ignored of the energy consumption and environmental emissions in the upstream phase of vehicle alternative fuels of the production process. Thus it is necessary to carry out the life cycle assessment of vehicle alternative fuels. This dissertation use the data of raw material extraction, transportation, production and use about low carbon alcohol fuel.According to the preparation of coal-based methanol and cassava ethanol as well as the principle of life cycle assessment,China’s low-carbon alcohol fuel life cycle energy consumption and environmental emissions analysis model is established which is in line with national environment. The whole life cycle evaluation model of lowalcohol alcohol fuel was established by GaBi 6.0.According to the fuel consumption and environmental emission factors of the low-alcohol alcohol three stages,we can get the energy consumption and the standard environmental emissions and greenhouse gases emissions. Finally, the evaluation results are used to characterize and normalize the model results. The data of life cycle resources and environmental impact assessment of low-alcohol alcohols are obtained and compared the sensitivity of the three stages of low-alcohol alcohol is studied by sensitivity analysis. The results show that from the energy consumption point of view,coal-based methanol full life cycle of crude oil consumption is 22% for the traditional gasoline, and cassava ethanol is 10% for the traditional gasoline around. From the environmental emissions point of view,low-carbon alcohol fuel environmental pollutants have been reduced in contrast with traditional gasoline, while the coal-based methanol emissions rose slightly and cassava ethanol emissions have increased.According to the sensitivity analysis of the environmental impact of the three stages of low-alcohol alcohol,it is found that the raw material stage of coal-based methanol is most sensitive to environmental impact while the vehicle stage of cassava ethanol is the most sensitive to environmental impact.Compared to traditional gasoline, energy consumption or environmental emissions of lowalcohol fuel have different degrees of improvement. If want to reduce the the consumption of primary energy we can make it based on plants or other renewable resources. For reducing the gas emissions we can use CO2 landfill technology and desulfurization technology which have developed very maturely,so that the promotion and development of low-carbon alcohol fuel can adapt to environmental and social requirements.
