The construction of high grade highway asphalt pavement need to consume a lot of road materials and fossil fuels, emission a large number of toxic and harmful gases,so it has become increasingly prominent and widespread concern due to causing environmental problems. However, the energy consumption and emission of the asphalt pavement construction mostly use the qualitative evaluation, lack of scientific and systematic quantitative evaluation system in china,so the emissions of environmental and economic benefits is not clear, have stunted the popularization and application of energysaving warm mix asphalt technology.Life cycle assessment is a method to assess the full life cycle environmental impact of the product,it takes into account the energy consumption and emissions from the cradle to the grave at different stages of the product, provides the theoretical support to promote the energy conservation and emission reduction of the asphalt pavement for the production enterprise and the management department.Under the strong voice of saving energy, protecting environment and achieving sustainable development, the energy-saving and emission reduction and economic evaluation of warm mix asphalt pavement construction is necessary.Paper first reviews the research status at home and abroad of energy consumption and emissions of asphalt pavement, the literature research and field studies are used to analysis the inventory results of energy products, building materials and construction machinery.By using the SETAC life cycle analysis framework, the asphalt pavement construction is divided into 4 stages: the raw material production, the raw material transportation, the mixture production and the mixture construction. The calculation range and boundary conditions were determined, and the energy consumption and emission of warm mix asphalt and hot mix asphalt were analyzed and compared.Using the thermodynamic theory analysis the energy consumption and emissions of warm mix asphalt mixture production stage in different mixing temperature, moisture content, oilstone ratio, calculate the change of energy consumption and emissions of the mixing station when fuel oil is upgraded from oil to natural gas,tap the potential of emission reduction in the production stage of the mixture fully.Secondly, with the help of the life cycle environmental impact assessment method provided by the Danish industrial product design, the six main exhaust gas is divided into four kinds of environmental impact: global warming, photochemical smog, nutrition and acidification.Establishes a model to calculate the respective environmental impact potential based on the characteristic factor.Using the normalization and weighting of LCIA steps,We unify the dimension of GWP,AP,POCP and EP,and then analyze the equivalent value of environmental impact potential, give the order of severity of environmental impact of WMA and HMA in the construction period. Finally, the paper uses the comprehensive unit price method to calculate the cost of asphalt pavement construction, determines the environmental cost of social willingness to pay and environmental cost calculation model with combining resources and environmental economics theory, makes up for the deficiency of LCA method for a long time.Using the input-output ratio, energy consumption and CO2 emissions per unit output value contrast the comprehensive economic cost of WMA and HMA pavement. The characteristics of prisoner's dilemma in warm mix asphalt technology are pointed out by the income matrix of game theory, and the suggestions on the application of warm mix asphalt technology are discussed.
