The model of arterial road route partition are proposeed by using methods and thought in this thesis,namely the "segment" and "intersection".Combine with the segment features,arterial road is divided into the "normal segment" and "lane separator".The lane separator include "median opening" and "side opening".Based on the function analysis,puts forward the arterial road standard transect.Summary and differences between two kinds of basic route approach capacity.Then gives the classification to arterial road and provides the basis of the theoretical research.In general the definition of intersection is the place which provide a place for urban traffic turn demand.According to this definition,the median opening and the side opening are defined as 2 types of intersections,which provide the theoretical basis for the "microscopic" traffic analysis of the transect.Through the research of "base entrance and exit spacing",the design standard and the proposed value of the access spacing are put forward.Through the research of "access cross geometry",the geometric design index is put forward and the traffic organization design model is carried out in the arterial road.Based on the principle and method of geometric and traffic design,a five-type sub-method of intersection type with median opening is proposed by a large number of engineering practice,analysis and summary.The opening model of U-turn is proposed,and the opening distance and geometric parameters.As a theoretical basis,to provide other types of "left turn" in the middle with the opening spacing,parameter indicators for analysis.
