Steel connection is one of the important research content in steel structure.Steel connection most research focused on the H type steel column and H type steel beam,but relatively few studies connected between the box column and H type steel beam.A H type steel column in stress performance has great advantages.The end plate connection is a typical semi-rigid connection,has good ductility,high welding quality,simple installation and other advantages.With the column end plate and box type connections with the advantage,put forward the short beam box column-H beam end plate connection joints.This paper through the finite element software ANSYS study the mechanical properties of end plate,Moment rotation curve,the strength of high strength bolts,the failure of joints and the influence of different parameters on the mechanical properties of the joints.The main contents of this paper are as follows:First of all,Using the finite element software ANSYS according to the H type steel column and steel beam H extended end plate connection test has been established finite element model of same size,by comparing the test results show that the finite element results and experimental results of the error is below 10%,the finite element software is used to simulate the end plate connection is feasible.Secondly,through the comparative analysis of two kinds of short beam with box column-H beam end plate connection joints,show that the box column in the new node in the non partition force performance and convenient construction are better than the box column is arranged in the partition node type.And,with emphasis on the thickness in the lower end plate of monotonic load,high strength bolt grade,short beam length and the thickness of column of box column has no effect,mechanical properties of joints under the new partition shows that the series of the failure of specimens are fracture plate buckling of high strength bolts;the end plate thickness have great influence on the bearing capacity of short beam in length;a range of mechanical properties of the joints have a certain effect The strength of the bolt has a great influence on the bearing capacity of the joint,and the thickness of the column has a certain influence on the yield moment,while the ultimate bending moment is basically the same.Finally,the thickness of the end plate of high strength bolt grade,impact,short beam length and column wall thickness on the performance of new seismic results show that the thickness of end plate and bolts level has great influence on the seismic performance of short beam length;influenced in a certain range;the column wall thickness has a certain effect on the new seismic performance.
