As the important foundation of national economic,social and cultural development,railway is one of the main modes of transport and the backbone of the integrated transport system,but also a popular means of transport.With the development of high-speed railway,the passenger capacity of railway between cities is more prominent.In 2016,National Development and Reform Commission issued the "long-term railway network planning",pointing out that it is urgent to build rational layout,efficient and convenient,wide,safe and economic modern railway network,so that the role of railway as the backbone of infrastructure could play better to support the country’s development needs.This paper chooses the China passenger railway network as the research object,summarizes and analyzes the relevant theories such as the theory of network spatio-temporal characteristics and the theory of complex network evolution,and makes a clear view of the railway network research and determines the node and network measurement indicators of the spatial and temporal characteristics of China’s passenger railway network,for the evolution analysis of space-time characteristics.289 cities are on the prefecture-level as network node,and inter-city passenger lines are the links between cities,to build a railway network.According to the railway development stage,the railway network data in 1957,1980,1997,2007,2014,2015,2016 and 2017 were selected for the evolution analysis.Data before 2015 is manually collected through books,and data is available on the web after 2015 collected by programming.Compared with different network visualization software,this paper selects Gephi software for railway network evolution analysis.The PageRank value as node index could reflect the evolution process of urban level,and the betweenness centrality of node is used to analyze the evolution of network structure.The dynamic evolution of the Page Rank value for node reflects the dynamic change of the importance degree of the urban node in the network,and divides the urban evolution process into four kinds of urban evolution results.And network clustering coefficient and network efficiency could show the network evolution effect and rule by analyzing the evolution of network index data.Finally,the paper analyzes the influence of network connection change on the whole network and the city node through the construction of "the Belt and Road Initiatives" in China.This paper discusses the change degree and reasons of the railway network by the change of spatial and temporal characteristic,including betweenness centrality,PageRank value,network clustering coefficient and network efficiency to putforward the suggestions for the development of China’s railway network planning,and provide reference for the future railway network layout and decision-making.
