With the rapid and efficient development of Chinese economy, the energy demand becomes increasingly pronounced, the railway transportation, which has a powerful advantage of transporting resource, plays an important role in the national economy. However,Heavy haul train will have a negative impact on the dynamic characteristics of high filled embankment during operation, causing serious damage to the embankment.Based on the high filled embankment in the Fengning section of Zhangjiakou-Tangshan heavy haul railway in this paper, the numerical model of high filled embankment was built by ABAQUS finite element software, the infinite element was applied for creating the model boundary, while the train load was simulated through VDLOAD subroutine and FORTRAN program,to calculate the deformation and stress of embankment. The reliability of the model is confirmed by comparing calculated results with measured results. Therefore, the relationship between the two main factors(axle load and the speed of the train)and stress or deformation of the high filled embankment could be studied. The results can be used to predict the long-term dynamic behavior of high filled embankment, which have theoretical and practical application value for the design and disease prevention of embankment. At the same time, the research ideas and methods can also provide theoretical basis and construction guidance for capacity expansion revamping of similar projects. The main content and research results are as follows:(1)The vertical dynamic stress of embankment surface increases with the increase of train axle load or running speed, while the influence caused by train axle load is the most significant;(2)The dynamic stress generated by the train load is attenuated along the depth of the embankment, and the decay rate increases with depth. At the same depth, the dynamic stress of embankment increases with the increase of train axle load and running speed, there is little dynamic stress transmission at the depth of 3.5 m from surface layer of subgrade;(3)When the ratio of elastic modulus is different between surface layer and bottom layer of subgrade, the larger the ratio, the smaller the dynamic stress value of the surface layer is;(4)The decay rate of the dynamic displacement along the depth direction increases with the depth of embankment.Especially when the running speed is 70 km/h,the decay rate of dynamic displacement is the most obvious,at the depth of 6 m from surface layer of subgrade, the dynamic displacement value is close to zero.
