In the era where economic complexities multiply in the global context and economic restructuring has undertaken domestically,the growth of the engineering construction industry is slowing down.The rivalry among companies will increase significantly along with the contraction of market.Under current circumstances,the companies must improve efficiency during the construction process,enhance cost management and improve capacity to secure more profits,in order to improve company's competitiveness in the market.This thesis includes an in-depth analysis of Company A's cost management during its mechanical and electrical installation process in actuality,and investigates practical issues and solution alternatives in cost management during mechanical and electrical installation.This thesis firstly introduces the cost management system and procedures in Company A,and summarizes the reasons that caused the failure to achieve cost control objectives,by analyzing the issues emerged in cost control during the installation process and factors including cost estimation,cost budget,cost control and actual budget in the company.Secondly,this thesis will conduct a theoretical analysis of different factors in cost management during the mechanical and electrical installation process.Based on the systematic framework of the analysis on projects with excess budget by using the Earned Value Theory,the thesis identifies key factors that can influence the cost management,and thus provides theoretical evidence for the improvement and optimization of the cost control process.Finally,based on the actual situation of Company A,the thesis provides appropriate improvement strategies to increase the awareness of cost management,improve the cost control methods,complete the cost control mechanism,optimize the structure of cost management,and optimize the resource allocation for cost control.This thesis reflects an in-depth investigation of the cost control during the mechanical and electrical installation in Company A,makes analysis of the reasons that caused issues in cost control in detail,and of several effective methods and strategies for cost control.The research results will be directive for the company's practices,and will be a valuable reference for similar cost control mechanisms in the mechanical and electrical installation process.
