Taking-off and landing phases account for a small proportion of the total flight time,but a great many of aviation accidents occurred in this period.When water exists on the runway,the safety of the aircraft is threatened.The splashing water,caused by the aircraft tires,may enter the engine inlet and affect the normal operation of the engine and in some cases even lead to the flameout of the engine.Besides,splashing water also results in damage of the aircraft structure which will influences the flight safety.Therefore,the test of aircraft's taxiing on the water-logged runway is an important subject for commercial aircraft in order to get the airworthiness certification.With the development of commercial aircraft in China,the more and more issue concerning splashing water caused by aircraft tires is receiving.This paper is aimed at studying the mechanism of splashing water caused by aircraft tires and the role of the chine using numerical method based on existing test results.Firstly,existing methods at home and abroad which analyze splashing water caused by aircraft tires were collected.After that,the analytical model was established using SPH method in ANSYS/LS-DYNA according to the geometry features of an aircraft tire.Besides,a set of computational analysis method is developed to simulate the morphology of splashing water.Secondly,the effects of some related parameters to the results are analyzed and the recommended value for some parameters are given according to the analysis results.In addition,the effectiveness of the calculation model was verified based on existing test results and predicted results by ESDU.Furthermore,considering various kinds of taxiing conditions,the variation law of the splashing shape under different taxiing speeds and water depths is given by numerical analysis method.Meanwhile,this paper also analyzes the variation law of the splashing shape considering the original chine and three kinds of improved chines.The improved parameters for the favorable chine are obtained by comparative analysis.Finally,the obstruction mechanism of chine to splashing water caused by the aircraft tire is investigated by analyzing the development progress of splashing water.The obstructioneffectiveness of two different kinds of chines is also analyzed and.recommendations for chine designe are given according to the analysis.
