Research On The Application Of Embodied Cognition In Product Design

With the continuous development of modern society, more and more people pursue the dual needs of material and spiritual satisfaction, more and more attention to the high quality of the user experience. As a medium between the user and the product, body behavior plays an important role in enhancing the user experience of the product. Nowadays, the research on the user's physical behavior has become a new hot spot of product design innovation.Difference to traditional cognitive theory, embodied cognition theory based on the theory of the unity of mind and body as the core, emphasizing the status and role of the body in the cognitive, product design through the body behavior to the user in the design of intervention, to enhance the user experience to provide a new theoretical support. In this paper, based on the theory of embodied cognition, from the user's physical behavior, to explore the new perspective of product design research and new ideas, has important theoretical significance and application value.In this paper, through the inductive analysis method and case analysis method, experiment method and example test, based on analyzing the background and development of embodied cognition theory, focuses on the design theory of the existing physical behavior under the perspective of construction and analysis of the four levels of embodied cognition associated with product design that is, "perceptual level", "emotional level", "executive level" and "imagery level"; and its relevance as the basis, proposed the product design strategies and procedures embodied cognition based on detail how embodied cognition research should be used in the product design, and provides a feasible design process; finally, in order to verify the proposed product design strategies and procedures embodied cognition based on the practical application of this design, the program design practice of campus stepping and trunk, and After verification, the final results and data show that the proposed design strategy and design procedures are feasible.Will embodied cognition theory applied to product design, to further enrich the theoretical research of the application in the field of embodied cognition, expand the perspective of the theory of product design research, and has practical significance to design practice.
