As the core component of the electrical connector,contact wear is the main cause of the contact failure,the insertion-withdrawal between the pin and socket often results in the occurence of wear.The slotted straight leaf spring type contact which widely used in aerospace electrical connector selected to be the research object,the effects of shell nosing?plug velocity and horizontal offset on the contact mechanical properties are investigated with the help of a insertionwithdrawal experiment system.Firstly,according to the horizontal offset migration characteristics of contact,it is divided into different grades.The contact characteristics of electrical connector are simulated and analyzed by nonlinear finite element simulation software Abaqus.The co-simulation method is used to establish the finite element simulation analysis model with the different sheel nosing.The contact area and contact pressure change characteristics,and the distribution characteristics of contact pressure and equivalent stress are analyzed under different sheel nosing and horizontal offset conditions.Secondly,a insertion-withdrawal experiment system is set up,which includes insertion-withdrawal force measuring device and contact resistance acquisition device,it can measure and acquire the insertion-withdrawal force and contact resistance in the process of plug,and the plug speed and the horizontal offset could be adjusted.Insertion-withdrawal experiments are conducted on three types of shell nosing contacts,the change rule of insertion-withdrawal force with the number of plug are getted.The change of suface roughness is the main reason for the increase of insertion force.The effect of plug on the wear rate of contact parts is analyzed.Thirdly,the influence of different insertion speed and contact resistance on the contact force of the contact parts is investigated.The change of insertion force and contact resistance is analyzed.Based on the surface morphology and element analysis of the worn area,three typical wear characteristics of the contact surface are summarized,abrade,particle and accumulation,namely.According to the change of wear rate of contact material,the wear characteristics of contact interface in plug and play process are obtained by establishing the tangent impact wear model.At last,the influence of horizontal offset on the insertion force and contact resistance of contact parts is investigated.The change of contact force and contact resistance is analyzed based on experiments.The influence of horizontal offset on the wear rate of contact material and the influence of continuous displacement on the jack spring are analyzed.From the micro perspective and summarizes the typical characteristics of the three kinds of pin wear to ploughing,particles and flow stack.The research methods and conclusions can provide the basis for the degradation analysis of the electrical contact performance and mechanical performance of the aerospace connector under the insertion and withdrawal conditions,thus improving the reliability of the electrical and electronic systems.
