The heating source of military buildings in remote parts of northern China mainly focuses on coal, diesel and other fossil fuels.Backward heating technology and low utilization efficiency not only increase the energy consumption of the army, but also affect the army's energy security. This does not meet the requirements of our army to build resource saving and environmentally friendly barracks. Most areas of northern China are rich in solar energy resources. Therefore,we can make use of the advantages in these areas to develop solar heating in winter. In view of the winter heating problem of the military depot in North China,a solar air heating system suitable for such buildings was proposed. The system has the advantages of simple structure, less running parts and long service life.It solved the heating problem of military depot, realizing harmonious coexistence and sustainable development between the barracks and the environment. And it is of great significance for enhancing the army's energy security capability.Firstly,we studied heating characteristics and heating status of military depot in northern China, and analyzed the necessity of using renewable energy for heating.A combined heating system of solar air collector and gas-fired air heater was proposed. And we had a detailed description of the operating principle and selected the various parts of the system. In order to maximize the utilization of solar energy and improve the heating efficiency,a total of 8 operating modes have been designed for the system, including solar energy heating and solar thermal storage mode, solar energy heating mode, solar energy and gas-fired heating mode, rock bed heating mode, rock bed and gas-fired heating mode,gas-fired heating mode, solar thermal storage mode and system stop mode.Secondly, the operation characteristics and heating effect of the system have been studied by simulation.Combined with relevant theoretical knowledge, the mathematical model was established.A conventional solar heating system as well as a solar air collector and gas-fired heater combined heating system were simulated by using TRNSYS software. The variations of solar radiation intensity, effective heat collection, heat load, solar energy guarantee rate, collector performance, indoor temperature and rock bed temperature have been compared. Finally, the volume of the system's rock bed was optimized by comparing the average annual net profit with a system without heat storage. And the economic and environmental benefits of the optimized system are also analyzed.
