This paper introduces types of metal dampers and their working principle in detail.Then summarizes the research,finite element analysis and test analysis of various metal dampers and joints between dampers and structural at home and abroad;introduces the advantages of the composite metal damper as a new type of metal damper and encourages the use of composite metal dampers in practice.The analytical methods of seismic mitigation structure with metal dampers are introduced in detail,including response spectrum method,time history method and static nonlinear analysis method.Then deduce the analytical principle of each method and discuss the way how to simulate the damper in analysis.The paper chooses seven seismic waves to analyze the performance of the library before and after seismic mitigation with composite metal dampers.It is concluded that the installation of the composite metal damper in the reinforcement structure can not only reduce the seismic response significantly,but also greatly reduce the damage degree of the structural members.In addition,based on the criteria of component performance evaluation proposed by previous researchers,this paper proposes a new method to evaluate the economy of reinforcement structure with dampers.Through the comparative analysis of the components before and after seismic mitigation,it is found that the installation of the composite metal damper in the reinforcement structure will lead to a significant increase of the axial force of the connected frame beams and columns.Therefore,when designing and analyzing,the axial compression ratio and bearing capacity of the relevant frame columns and foundations should be checked,and the connected frame beams should have a supplemental check as beam-columns.According to the specification,design the joint of the composite metal dampers and the frame beams and set up some finite element models according to the design results.The results show that :the bearing capacity of the joint can be satisfied,but the ductility needs to be improved,the joint fails because the concrete of the hole was crushed;and the energy dissipation capacity is good.Change the size of the screw diameter of the join and set up four models for comparative analysis.The results show that when the diameter of the screw increases,the peak displacement of the nodes increases,while the peak load increases and then decreases;the relationship between the ductility coefficient of the nodes and the peak load is negatively related;the energy dissipation capacity of this kind of node is not bad,and the change of the screw diameter has little effect on the energy dissipation capacity.Change the thickness of the side steel plate of the nodes and set up three models for comparative analysis.The results show that when the thickness of the side steel plate increases,the peak displacement decreases and the peak load capacity increases;the ductility and energy dissipation capacity of the nodes are both gradually deteriorated with the thickening of the side plate,which means that it is not favorable for seismic resistance.
