In modern warfare,stealth weapons is important for all nations' military group,because stealth techniques can greatly improve the weapons' survivability and penetration ability.As Radar Cross Section(RCS)being one of the most important parameter in the study of stealth technology,it is quite necessary to study the measurement of the RCS.Compared to traditional far-field and compact range measurement systems,near-field RCS measurement systems has many advantages,such as very short test distance,easy operation indoor,high security,high precision and low cost,etc.So it has become an important way to study target scattering characteristics.In this paper,one practical near field RCS measurement system is built,and its solution,software and near-to-far transformation method are studied.First of all,based on the comprehensive investigation of present near field RCS measurement technology,we puts forward a near field RCS measurement solution which fit for small vacuum chamber.And the overall scheme,software composition and working principle of the system,along with the key part of the system are discussed in detail.The effect of receiver sensitivity and background level are analyzed.Secondly,we developed a fully functioned software for the near field RCS measurement system,according to functional requirements and hardware interface of the system.The programming language is C# with NI controls.Finally,according to the measuring distance can not meet the far field limitation conditions,a near-to-far RCS transformation method based on ISAR imaging is proposed.The method is proved to be correct by the simulation result of both kind of targets make up of scattering centers and typical complex targets.Some results of this paper has been used to guide the construction of a plasma stealth technology evaluation test field,and can also be used for other relevant theoretical research and practical work.
