| Rod end spherical plain bearing have been widely used in machinery industry with many advantages,rod end spherical plain bearings with modified injection nylon is a kind of self lubricating bearings,which were injected by the injection molding machine through the injection holes arranged on the outer ring of the rod end joint bearing,there were many studies on modified nylon,such as the modification was made by fiber,solid lubricant and nano materials,these studies could only be used to evaluate the performance of composite materials,and the performance for the application of these materials used to the rod end joint bearing could not be accurately assessed,so the tribological properties and wear mechanisms of rod end spherical plain bearings with modified injection nylon were investigated with a high oscillating frequency and heavy load tribo—tester made on our own in this paper.The wear and fiction properties of rod end spherical plain bearings with modified injection nylon were investigated under three kinds of load and three kinds of swing frequencies on a self-made fiction and wear tester,The friction coefficients and wear depths and the frictional temperature rise under different load and oscillating frequency were investigated through processing the test data,the friction coefficients of rod end spherical plain bearings with modified injection nylon decreased first and then increased with the increase of the load and the oscillating frequency,the wear depths and the frictional temperature rise increased with the load and the oscillating frequency.With the help of a scanning electron microscope(SEM),an energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS)and a fourier transform infrared spectrometer,the microstructure,wear mechanisms and the contents of the chemical elements on the worn surfaces of the liners varied with the loads of the four rod end spherical bearings were compared and analyzed,experimental results show that the worn surface of the liners were getting more and more rough with the increase of load and frequency,the adhesive wear and abrasive wear occurred on the worn surfaces of the bearings’ liners.The change of the functional groups of nylon molecules was one of the reasons for the increase of wear depthStatic model and complete thermal mechanical coupling model of rod end spherical plain bearing were built by ABAQUS simulation software.According to thetest conditions,The 3.6kn radial force was exerted on the rod end spherical plain bearing in the complete thermal mechanical coupling model,and set up the rotary swing analysis step.The distribution of heat flow,temperature,stress and deformation of the rod end bearing under the condition of complete thermal mechanical coupling were analyzed,the maximum temperature of the center of the contact surface is47.73℃,the maximum temperature of the inner contact surface is 46.52℃,the heat flow and temperature of the liner and the inner ring were spread from the center of the contact to the surrounding,the maximum contact stress and the contact deformation of the liner and the inner ring in the contact center of the liner and the inner ring.By comparing the measured temperature with the simulation results,it is found that the distribution curve was similar,the simulation results were slightly larger than the experimental results.Considering all kinds of external factors,the simulation results were in good agreement with the experimental results. |
