The fuse cutout is usually used as a line protection device(switchgear)at the inlet and outlet line of 10 kV transformer in the 10 kV power system.At present,the price of fuse cutout on the market is expensive and its performance is not good.Therefore,it is necessary to develop a better and low cost fuse cutout.The paper designs a new type of fuse cutout in order to solve the above problems.On the one hand,this paper proposes a new design of replacing existing porcelain and epoxy resin and silicone rubber with TPE as the insulating material of fuse cutout by studying the physical properties,chemical properties and process characteristics of TPE.The feasibility of TPE material as an insulating material was analyzed by finite element analysis method of ANASYS software.And then the insulation performance of TPE material was verified by lightning impulse test and power-frequency withstand voltage test.On the other hand,this paper also analyzed the contact structure and current breaking mode of the existing fuse cutout and designed a new contact structure,which is more reliable and simple,replacing the existing structure.Multiple sets of temperature rise test and main circuit resistance measurement test were used to optimize the contact structure to meet the national standards for electrical equipment related indicators,and ultimately get a simple,reliable and lower cost contact structure.In this paper,the design of the new fuse cutout in the insulator greatly reduces the application cost of insulating materials and improves the hydrophobic properties of insulating materials and antioxidant properties.In addition,the new contact structure abandons the existing pressure-type contact structure to solve the problems caused by poor neutrality,such as breaking process of the card shell and unilateral structural ablation serious.The three-point contact of the spherical contact structure also improves the contact reliability of the drop fuse operation.
