The carrying capacity of high-speed railway depends on the carrying capacity of sections and stations. In high-speed railway, the carrying capacity of sections is released by advanced block system and shortened headway time. Station capacity becomes an important bottleneck of the system capacity, therefore to a certain extent it determines the train operation density and transport capacity. With economic development and technological progress, transport demand is increasing. At the same time, "small group, high density" model is a big challenge to the adaptability of station capacity. Station capacity must be adapted to changes in transport demand to ensure trains running on schedule and to provide high quality services to passengers. Therefore, given the station infrastructure, the research on station's adaptability to transport demand is of great importance to train operation and infrastructure utilization.According to theoretical analysis and research results of some high-speed railway stations in China, an adaptability evaluation model of station capacity is created. Simulation experiments are designed for quantitative analysis. Finally, optimization strategies are proposed based on experiment results and actual operation. The main work is the following:1. The theoretical system and classification of station capacity adapted to high-speed railway in China is identified. By presenting the actual status of some typical stations, the factors that impact station capacity are analyzed, including train structure, train operation time and train distribution.2. Given the definition and research method of station carrying capacity adaptability,a capacity adaptability evaluation model and four evaluation indexes are created based on track utilization. MATLAB and R language are used to preprocess input data. Importing the data of the infrastructure and actual timetable of a high - speed rail station, the model is validated by using the commercial optimization software CPLEX to solve the problem.3. On the basis of the model,a number of simulation experiments are designed to quantitatively research the station's adaptability to changes of train structure, train operation time and train distribution. Compared with most qualitative research, quantitative experiment is helpful to judge the matching relationship between station capacity and transportation demand, and to provide theoretical basis for improving station organization and infrastructure.4. Some stations' adaptability is estimated based on the actual data and simulation results. Both quantitative and qualitative optimization strategies are proposed in the aspects of operation and infrastructure.
