| As the important local garden among Chinese classical garden system, Sichuan classical garden hold a unique local culture and rich regional characteristics. In recent protection of classical gardens and green space and construction of urban green space system, classical garden as a historical and cultural garden has a certain research value and protection value."Rock" and "water" is the two basic elements of the garden. The study on the construction of the art of landscape in classical gardens can not only excavate the use of gardening techniques, but also explore the characteristics of local gardens, and protect the heritage of local garden art further.Taking Sichuan classical garden as the research object, selecting more than ten representative gardens of various types, through literature reading, investigation and mapping,graphic analysis, comparative and induction analysis and other research methods to analyse the landscape structure, the art and technique of rockery and water management of Sichuan classical gardens, and further summarizes the characteristics of Sichuan classical garden rockery and water management. While in the background of the construction of modern urban green space, we should pay more attention to the landscape layout and structure, materials and techniques, local garden features in order to update and heritage classical gardening art.The main research ideas and conclusions of this paper are divided into five parts:First, influencing factors. Because of its unique natural environment, ideological,cultural and historical factors, Sichuan created the classical gardens with regional characteristics. The formation of the art of rockery and water management in gardens is related to the natural conditions such as the complicated terrain environment, the natural water network and the crustal rock structure. And also related to historical and cultural factors such as popular religious thought, leisure and entertainment culture, traditional farming and fishing and population flow.Second, Landscape structure. Analyzed the relationship between the landscape of rockery and water in representative garden of three major garden types such as celebrity memorial garden, temple garden, and folk house. Summed up six models full garden landscape such as rockery scattered surrounded by water, Rockery water echoes, Rockery and water scattered, Rockery and water in corner, Mountain streams, Courtyard center. Four models of part landscape such as Landscape center, Rocky shore, Stone scattered on shore, Stacked mountain water source. On this basis, the characteristics of landscape architecture of Sichuan classical gardens were extracted as Ground-based, dug lake mountain, Local style, layout free,Learn from each other, Simple and natural.Third, Art of rockery. Analyzed the art of rockery in Sichuan classical garden from the stone materials, function and layout, landscaping techniques, the relationship of gardening elements and other aspects. Summarized the techniques of mountain and rockery. the art of rockery of Sichuan Classical Garden can be summarized as Local materials, natural simple,Limited volume, flexible layout, random placement, Based on local, learning Jiangnan.Forth, Art of water management. Analyzed the art of water management in Sichuan classical garden from the source to stay, the structure of the water, the spatial sequence, the form of the shore and the relationship with other gardening elements and summaried water technology and techniques from these aspects of Sichuan classical gardens, which is Limited water, one or three tenth, Square surface, simple and regular, Hard to shore, pebble-based.Fifth, Update and inheritance. Based on the current development status and protection of Sichuan Classical Gardens, through investigation and analysis of landscape,many, problems of rock and water and other aspects were found.
