As the device to transmit and receive information on an aircraft communication system,airborne antenna is essential.Airborne antennas' performance directly determines whether the quality of the aircraft communication system is acceptable or not.For the antenna,the radiation pattern of the airborne antenna is often distorted due to the external environment of its complex boundary conditions and the coupling between the airborne antennas.The radiation performance of the antenna is so affected that cannot meet the initial design requirements.Considering the actual needs,the antenna with high directivity,wide angle beam and other radiation characteristics is usually required.Usually a single antenna is often difficult to achieve engineering objectives,sometimes one of the main methods we solve these problems is using the array antenna.In this paper,we mainly study the airborne antenna technology in the communication system,and adopt knife array antenna to achieve the vertical polarized end-ray pattern radiation and the conformal microstrip antenna array to realize the wide beam radiation.Based on the airborne antenna pattern distortion and compensation methods,this paper makes the analysis and research.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1.Firstly,the eletromagnetic model of aircraft and the main forms of airborne antenna are mainly discussed.The theory of the monopole antenna and its array placed on the ideal conductive plane is analyzed and discussed,including the microstrip antenna and its conformal microstrip.Then,the coupling problem of multi-antenna system on aircraft is given and discussed.2.Followed by using the monopole as a prototype of the knife array antenna,the antenna gain can be increased by properly loading the director,transmitter and increasing the active oscillator.At the same time,the coupling between the active oscillator is reduced through distance isolation,which is not at the expense of gain.We achieve a non-linear arrangement of ten-knife airborne antenna.3.Finally,the fuselage is utilized as a conformal platform and the microstrip antenna is used to design the conformal microstrip array to realize the wide beam radiation characteristics.Meanwhile,the surface wave is suppressed by loading the connected CSRR structure to reduce the coupling between the conformal microstrip array cells.Eventually,a wide-beam conformal microstrip antenna based on meta-surface is designed.
