With the rapid development of aero science, aircraft increasingly enhanced functionality makes research on the characteristics of airborne antenna very meaningful. Aircraft materials and special structures will inevitably lead to changes in the performance of the antenna, so when studying on the characteristics of airborne antenna, the airborne platform and antenna must be considered as a whole. This paper takes the research project as a reference to choose the topic, distribution optimization and coupling characteristic analysis of the airborne antenna array is completed. The main work is as follows:1. Establishing the model of antenna array and airborne platform; 2. Comparing the whole radiation performance of antenna array under different distributions; 3. Exploring the coupling characteristics of the circular hole of the airborne platform when the antenna array is working. The main contents are as follows:First of all, take the knife-shape horn antenna as an antenna unit of ten element slot-type antenna array and stack-type antenna array, and analyze the characteristics of these two kinds of arrays. Then a radome filled up with transformer oil for a three element slot-type antenna array is designed, of which the cross-section is an ellipse combined with a rectangle. Compared with an array without this radome, the peak-to-peak value of electrical far-field improves 41ï¼…, the far field radiation beam width narrows, and the front-to-back ratio gets better, the gain is increased by 4.96dB, the power capacity increases by 24 times. Based on a UAV, the airborne platform is established, and meanwhile the antenna array with a reflector model is proposed to improve the computational efficiency, the feasibility of which is verified, and the improvement of the performance of the antenna array is analyzed as well.Secondly the integrated model of antenna array and airborne platform is established, and the performance of slot-type antenna array and stack-type antenna array which are loaded on belly and wings are discussed relatively. Using the antenna array with a reflector model firstly, optimal antenna array distribution is obtained in consideration of electrical far-field peak-to-peak value and pattern, then compare with the radiation performance of antenna array without airborne platform, with a reflector and airborne platform relatively, not only the improvement of radiation characteristics but also the reliability of the results are discussed. Based on this and taking directional radiation into account, rotate the array to realize the tunable radiation pattern of antenna array.And last considering the problem of the potential damage to electronic equipment, punch a hole under the nose and build up the coupling model of antenna array and airborne.The electric field distribution is measured when the antenna array is working, as well as the coupling coefficient curve, so the coupling effect of the optimal antenna array distribution is analyzed.
