With the spread of smart grid, digital energy measurement technology has been developed rapidly. However, due to the lack of technical specification, the measurement result of digital energy meter can't be used for electricity charges settlement, that means the advantage of digital measurement technology can't play a role. Therefore,it's necessary to study the error sources and the error characteristics of the digital power measurement algorithm, and the relations of influence quantity errors and the combined error must be researched.Firstly, the current status of IEC 61850 protocol and the error research of digital electric energy measurement algorithm is introduced in this paper. The principle of digital energy meter is introduced, and the mathematical model and error characteristics of the power energy measurement algorithm have been studied. The performance of algorithms under different conditions is analyzed by simulation.Secondly,we analyzed the effects of merging unit to active power measurement, and we proposed a quantization error analysis method based on random variables.Through Monte Carlo simulation, the distribution characteristics of combined error and influence quantity errors of digital energy meter have been obtained, and their relations have been validated. Moreover,we studied the optical fiber communication principle of IEC 61850 message, summarized the influence factors of message transmission errors in digital energy measurement systems, and studied the relation between BER and PER.The effects of loss frames to active power measurement is analyzed by theoretical derivation and simulation. Finally,we build error test platform of digital energy meter, and test the influence of protocol and A/D conversion on active power measurement.
