In the context of global warming and exhaustion of energy resources, smart grids and digital substation play pretty important role in the development of power grid. The quite quick development of digital substation bring about a new way of energy metering: digital power metering. Compared to the traditional energy metering, digital energy metering has advantage of accuracy. There is still no consensus on the research of digital energy metering and no standard algorithm of the digital energy metering have been proposed, that affects and restricts its development.At first, this paper respectively introduces two structures of digital power metering system,including electronic transformer and conventional transformer. The error sources of four transformer which widely used in analog front and the ways to reduce the error is analyzed in this paper. This paper also analyzed IEC61850-9-1/2 communication protocols,established the model of quantization error, deduced the formula of uncertainty caused by quantization error; This paper theoretically analyzed the non-synchronous sampling, and it is recommended to use quasi-synchronization algorithm to improve the accuracy of mearsurement. This paper analyzed the processing algorithms of lost frames, proved the Newton interpolation is a relatively reasonable approach. This paper designed a new simulation platform of digital energy metering which can be used to analyze compositive error, and the platform is simple and easy to operate.
