Research On Service Design Strategy Of Rural Cultural Conservation Based On Social Innovation

With the continuous expansion of design scope,design has been applied to solve wicked problems through the re-definition of problems,the analysis of the relationship between stakeholders,the deconstruction of design process and innovative methods,to achieve sustainable transformation with systematic solutions.With a large number of villages disappearing,cultural preservation for China's rural areas becomes one of emerging wicked problems.The lack of awareness in cultural protection,low participation of the community,unsustainable business model and simplex development thinking all together complex the problem,while service based on social innovation can contribute to the continuity of rural culture through redefining value and the relationship between communities and places.The research is based on the state of the art of social innovation,to intervene rural culture conservation from the perspective of service design,to reconstruct the relationship between communities and between community and place,to explore new methods to improve the quality of services about rural culture conservation.In this thesis,literature and case study has been used to sort out the main role,innovation mode and the focus of social innovation process.By exploring the relationship between social innovation and territorial development,"collaborative,localized" was determined as the main design direction,which is consist of 3 stages: community building-place making-sustainable innovation.Through the theoretical research on rural cultural conservation,service design,as well as the analysis of present situation of existing rural cultural conservation services,three intervening levels of service design are determined,that is the relationship level-the design of community network,the project strategical level-design for service constructive action,service experience level-design for product service system.The author visited 10 villages and collected datum through interviewing villagers,service constructors and users,as well as experiencing cultural conservative activities,then 7village files are established with all the datum to verified the former direction through the comparison and insight into the villages files.Through the problem and opportunity sorting,the thesis propose design models and service design strategies for promote social innovation in rural cultural conversation field,and provide a reference and guidance for design in more similar situation.Therefore,this paper puts forward the context paradigm and design guidance for the design intervention of the rural cultural conversation,it also expands and enriches the connotation and extension of the relevant theory.
