The appear of the oblique floor was the result of many revolutions in architecture in the 20th century. Above all, after the Modern Architecture Movement, the floor acquire the same importance as the wall and the roof as a result of the four-dimensional decomposition. In the meantime, designers reviewed the importance of human-perception on the function of architecture. What's more, the concept of Promenade Architecture and the Flowing Space bring more function to the ramp. Last but not least, the arise of the leaning floor created brand -new architectural space shape. This kind of new spatial-form is composed basically by ramp, stairs and leaning floor, making the space more continuous in vertical orientation. More importantly, it decomposed the concept of layer in architecture, brought about a new trend of making the architecture interior-space more chaotic, indefinite, continuous and smooth. This article analyzes the oblique floor through three aspects, namely, history, function and space shape. Meanwhile, this article try to figure out the philosophy and psychology theories that promoted the development of the oblique floor. By analyzing these theories, this article can probably clarify the foothold of the oblique floor. At the same time, by researching on the organizing strategies and the design concept of the oblique floor, this article try to uncover more possibility in modern architecture and provide some reference base in comprehending this kind of architectural shape.
