As an important component of modern reinforced concrete structure,the deep beam has been widely used in the building structure because of its unique bearing capacity.The deep beam does not accord with the plane section assumption because of it's small span-depth ratio,therefore the bearing capacity theory of normal section and inclined section of ordinary beam is not applicable to deep beam.The STM(strut-and-tie Model)model desigin method is recommended for design in abroad in the“Code for design of concrete structures”,like The United States,Europe and Australia.Appendix G in the“Code for design of concrete structures”in china provides specialized provisions for the design of deep beams,while this desigin method is base on the ordinary beam analysis method using the empirical formula to carry on the desigin.The safety of the ordinary deep beam(no opening,load Simple)can be guaranteed based on chinese code.So far,there is no relevant provision to reference in domestic code for the complex stress mechanism component of reinforced concrete deep beam with openings,this is the blank area for the code.Therefore,it is necessary to explore a scientific and rational design method for the design of reinforced concrete deep beam with openings.At present,there are many researches on the design of reinforced concrete deep beams based use STM model,but few researches are done on reinforced concrete deep beam with openings.In view of the above situation,the main work of this paper is as follows:(1)Comparative analysised the design method of STM model in The United States' s code(ACI318-11)in appendix A and the design method of deep beams in china's code(GB50010-2010)in appendix G in detaile.(2)Using the bi-directional evolutionary structural optimization(BESO)topology optimization of reinforced concrete deep beam with openings,based on the analysis of some examples,the method and principle of using the BESO optimization method to establish STM model of reinforced concrete Deep beam with openings are summarized,and the limitation and suggestion of opening location and size of the deep beam are given.(3)The United States' s code(ACI318-11)and Chinese code(GB50010-2010)are adopted respectively to design the simply supported reinforced concrete deep beam with openings under the action of a concentrated force.Summed up the design method of reinforced concrete deep beam with openings based on STM model.(4)Using the general finite element software ANSYS,the separated modeling analysis of reinforced concrete deep beam with openings with two kinds of calculation methods has been carried out.Numerical modeling analysis verifies the feasibility and reliability of the design of reinforced concrete deep beam with openings based on STM model.
