In this paper, the habitability approach on submarine crews working and living has been studied more targeted based on the urgent current situation which is that living condition in submarine is very harsh. Until now, there are not more systematically research systems and methods on submarine habitability. Therefore, this paper has tried to review and summarize researching and improving the methods on submarine habitability. In order to reduce the effects of vibration on crews when machines running, floating raft isolation system is adopted and finite element software ANSYS is used to conduct numerical simulation analysis on this system. The basis to improve submarine environment in theory is given out and workable conclusion and data in practice are gained.The main contents of this paper are summarized as follows:(1) From the perspective of human senses, factors involved submarine habitability including space environment, cabin air environment, cabin temperature, humidity, light, color,noise, vibration and so on are simply analysis. Those analyses provide an efficient way to improve submarine habitability. At the same time, referring domestic and international guideline and internationally recognized standard,more prominent habitability issues existing in submarine are improved by enlarging living space, improving cabin climate and environment, adjusting the brightness and color, reducing vibration and noise.(2) According to requirement of submarine habitability rules, as well as referring the materials published by foreign naval research institute and learning the research results of aviation, aerospace and surface ships, the arrangement methods of living cabin and related equipment are discussed. The efficient arrangement method of cabin is proposed to improve crews living environment.(3) Floating raft system with monoblock draft is calculated and simulated by using finite element software ANSYS. Natural frequencies and mode shapes of floating raft system with monoblock draft are gained from modes analysis and harmonic response analysis. In addition, weighted acceleration values which is floating raft system with monoblock draft delivering to foundation under harmonic concentration force are studied and compared with standard values of submarine habitability.(4) Floating draft system with triangle draft, diamond draft and semicircular draft are designed and vibration characteristics are analysis from modes response and harmonic response. This can provide reference for related research in submarine habitability through calculating output acceleration and comparing with weighted acceleration of body to vibration comfort. And it is conductive to further development for research submarine habitability.
