Submarine is an important component of modern navy equipment, and maneuverability is one of the important performance of submarine. During the stage of general design, it is necessary to choose the design scheme which satisfies the request of maneuverability in a lot of different design schemes and judge the advantages and disadvantages for these schemes.Time and costs will be save if hydrodynamic coefficients are estimate in predicting the submarine maneuverability. A large number of design schemes which cannot satisfies the request of maneuverability will be abandoned and then design schemes which satisfies the request of maneuverability will be predicted through more accurate prediction methods.General equations of submarine motion are established firstly in this thesis and then the hydrodynamic forces of moving submarine are analyzed, the horizontal maneuvering motion model is established finally. Different hydrodynamic coefficients have different level of influence on submarine maneuvering motion parameters. In order to examine the sensitivity of hydrodynamic coefficients in motion equations, the hydrodynamic coefficient sensitivity index is introduced to carry out sensitivity computation and analysis of the twenty nine hydrodynamic coefficients in the horizontal plane motion equations of submarine. Classifying the hydrodynamic coefficients according to the degree of sensitivity after analysis of hydrodynamic coefficients can provide theoretical foundation for abandoning the hydrodynamic coefficients which are difficult to calculate in estimation method.The thesis analyzes 24 hydrodynamic coefficients after omitting five hydrodynamic coefficients which sensitivity indexes are relatively small and lack of enough theoretical calculation basis. The estimation model for hydrodynamic coefficient is established according to the principle of hydrodynamic and method for the determination of tank test. Contrast the hydrodynamic coefficients calculated in estimation method and numerical computation method respectively, hydrodynamic coefficients which calculated in estimation method have a certain errors.Turning motion in horizontal plane of submarine is a typical maneuvering motion, the performance of submarine maneuvering can be shown significantly by the turning motion parameters. According to the model of submarine maneuvering motion in horizontal plane and the estimation model for hydrodynamic coefficient, this thesis writes the simulation program of submarine maneuvering motion in horizontal plane in Fortran language. This thesis carry out the simulation of submarine maneuvering motion in horizontal plane for Suboff model and other three submarine types with estimation method and the numerical calculation of hydrodynamic coefficients by the program. Compare the result of simulation in two calculate methods on hydrodynamic coefficient, the simulation model in estimation method can attain the aim for the stage of general design that compare and analyze different design schemes.
