Research Of Urban River And Channel Transformation Based On The Concept Of "Sponge City"

Frequent flood disasters,decreasing the underground water level,the disappearance of lakes and rivers are water environment issues to solve for China.“Sponge City” is a rethink for urban water problems.LID is a main idea for “Sponge City” to solve many water problems and to build a water ecological security pattern for urban.Building a livable eco-city that can store,permeate,purify rainwater by green roofs,permeable pavements,detention ponds and storm-water systems.Lakes,wetlands,forests and rain gardens are also essential.Urban rivers and channels are important parts of the Sponge City and they have many functions in flood control,ecological construction,landscape planning and humanities education.Urban rivers and channels can defense flood,can restore water cycle system of city,can provide spiritual enjoyment for residents.The research results in general four aspects: NO.1 Search for “Sponge City” theories and practice results and dig “Sponge City” thinking in ancient times;No.2 summarize some theories and practice results about research of urban river and channel transformation based on the concept of “Sponge City”.In this part,this paper talks about what is the river,the channel,the characteristics and the importance of “Sponge City”,as well as introduces building technologies of river and channel in ancient China.Also analyse excellent designings about urban river and channel transformation based on the concept of “Sponge City” at home and abroad;No.3 explored methods of urban river and channel transformation based on the concept of “Sponge City”,that includes zoning planning,ecological planning and landscape planning.In ecological planning,we talk about how to reduce pollution,and how to design planer structure,riverbed,revetments,roads and buildings of graff.In landscape planning,we discuss about some landscape elements include plants,roads,hydrophilic facilities,buildings and enviroment facilities;No.4 Tanglai Channel of Yinchuan is a carrier for the theory,and we explore the feasibility of transforming Tanglai Channel.We come up with some specific transformation strategies on crosswise and vertical section.The crosswise section is divided into the deep water area,the shallow water area,the amphibious ecotone and the land area.The vertical section is divided into the residential area,the business district,the park district and the agricultural areas.
