The method of transient voltage detection (TEV) is adopted, which has the following advantages: It can be used in the state of equipment operation Under the detection, early detection of equipment defects can be effectively fault location, with a certain anti-interference ability.In this paper,the principle and theoretic study of TEV detection method, the establishment of the experimental platform to simulate the partial discharge, completed the 10kV switchgear PD simulation device design, using three standard 10kv switchgear simulation of the actual situation, the switchgear placed The three experimental models of creeping discharge, corona discharge and suspended discharge are designed. By using the TEV signal acquisition system of partial discharge of switchgear, the scatter and spectrum of TEV were obtained under different defects. The fault location was detected by qualitative analysis and the data were compared with the data in the database. The method can effectively obtain the information of partial discharge, and can reflect the discharge characteristics of fault type, so as to provide effective detection method and judgment basis for the fault. At the same time, electric field simulation is carried out in the switchgear, and the key detection test is carried out on the parts which are prone to partial discharge under high voltage electric field. The design and scheme of the multi - channel on - line monitoring system are proposed, which can detect all kinds of partial discharges of the switchgear comprehensively and effectively. On this basis can be very convenient to set up regional monitoring platform.At last, the conclusion of the research and application of partial discharge detection of switchgear is that the safe operation state of electrical equipment can be known at any time by TEV detection method, the insulation condition of field equipment can be diagnosed and the potential fault point, For the partial discharge of science to take preventive measures to avoid the emergence of equipment failure, to ensure that the field devices continue, safe and effective operation.
