In the wind farm,usually used to stabilize the grid voltage of the two traditional reactive power compensation devices are: SVC and SVG.SVC has obvious advantages such as simple control algorithm,cheap price and easy to install.Meanwhile,there are also some disadvantages,such as response lagging reactive power compensation,produce the characteristic harmonics polluting grid,low efficiency and so on.But SVG has obvious strengths such as fast response time,able to adjust smoothly,less grid pollution to the power grid,high efficiency and so on.However,because of the limitation of the single tube capacity of the switch device,it is also very uneconomical to use the large capacity full control device in the high power occasions.So this article use small capacity SVG and low-cost of the fixed step capacitors to compose large capacity dynamic reactive power compensation device,such not only can achieve rapid compensation effect,but also greatly reduce equipment investment cost.Firstly,this paper analyzes the reactive voltage characteristics in wind farms.Based on the simulation,the variation of power quality parameters of wind farm in two cases of steady state and transient state is explained.At the same time,it is shown that the wind farm has a serious voltage fault,the wind farm must be installed reactive power compensation equipment to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid.Then,based on the actual wind farm as an example,the SVG+FC compensation device is designed in detail,and the hardware and software of the control system are designed in detail.Finally,through the Matlab/Simulink simulation platform,the wind farm reactive power compensation experimental model is built.The simulation results show that the SVG+FC type dynamic reactive power compensation device is not only fast response speed,injected to the power grid harmonic content is small,and device cost is greatly reduced.
