One of the main reasons resulting in the failure modes of mechanical components and engineering components own to wear. The promblem about how to repairing during the operation of the wear surface and extending the service life of mechanical equipment and maintenance cycle is the current research hot spot. In recent years, the research to metal wear self-repair additives bases on Serpentine kind of silicate mineral particles. In different lubricating conditions, the research of silicate mineral particles show that has good antifriction wear-resisting effect and special self-healing function. But for this kind of new additives of anti-friction mechanism of wear-resisting and repair is also imperfect. In the study of silicate minerals as anti-friction wear-resisting material has important practical significance.The results provide experimental foundation and theoretical basis for expanding the industrial application of the material and supplementing and perfecting the mechanism of the anti-friction and anti-wear.In this paper, the micro/nano biotite was took as the main research object. The lubricating oil containing biotite particles were prepared by method of ball grinding mill. The tribological test of steel - steel friction pair and copper - steel friction pair were investigated on the SFT-2M pin disc friction and wear tester. Analysis of biotite in friction pair between the role of the mechanism by adopting different characterization methods research the change of the friction pair surface composition.This article main content work done are as follows:Firstly,this paper introduces the research status of as wear self-repair material of layered silicate mineral powders.And then, the structure of layered silicate minerals and the anti-friction and anti-wear and repair mechanism were analyzed.The micro/nano biotite powder was identified the new type of anti-friction and anti-wear additive.Secondly, the structure characteristics of biotite was analyzed,and biotite particles were producted in the ball grinding mill by powder material preparation technology. The Micro nano biotite particles were using different surface modification agent that carried out on the particles surface treatment.Sedimentation method was employed to evaluate the modified particles in the dispersion of base oil.The morphology and particle size of biotite particles were characterized by SEM and TEM.Thirdly,the measure biotite particles friction and wear properties of the experimental platform had setted,and designed the experiment with pin disc friction pair and lubrication system.Fourthly, the friction and wear experiments for steel - steel and copper-steel friction pair in the experimental platform were tested.Through this experiment,the effect of additive concentration on the performance of friction coefficient and wear volume of steel-steel friction pair and copper - steel friction pair were analyzed. Additive concentration on different friction pair of friction coefficient and wear quantity were summarized.At last, the surface morphology of worn specimen were investigated by SEM, the element state,the content and composition of worn surface were studied by EDS and XPS.According to result of the study that additive at different friction pair surface wear of physical and chemical changes, mechanism of the additive on the worn surface of different friction pair were analyzed.
