As one of the three core components of the gas turbine, the performance of the compressor has a very big impact on the overall performance. With the continuous development of the times, higher requirements are put forward for the performance of a new generation of gas turbine compressor. High pressure ratio, high efficiency and large surge margin are the inevitable trend of the future development of the compressor. Operating characteristic curves of the compressor can fully reflect the performance of compressor in different conditions. Whether it is in the design stage, or in the late stages of running, the operating characteristics curves of the compressor play an irreplaceable important role and have guiding significance. In order to obtain the operating characteristic lines of a two-stage axial flow compressor and grasp the flow field of its various operating conditions. This paper respectively uses numerical simulation and experimental research methods.Taking a two-stage axial flow compressor as a prototype, this article used numerical simulation method to calculate the flow field and got the internal distribution of the operating characteristic curve of the type of compressor and part of operating conditions. Finally, we can complete the experimental program design of the compressor, and then build compressor test platform on this basis. The main work is as follows:First, we can use the modeling software UG to build a same physical size model of the tested compressor. And Autogrid module of commercial software NUMECA was used to mesh the model. Finally, Fine/turbo compressor calculation module was used to get numerical solution in different conditions of this type of flow field. Operating characteristics are calculated at seven different speeds of 0.5n,0.6n,0.7n,0.8n,0.9n, 0.95n,1.0n, 1.05n ('n' is the design speed). Then the compressor operating characteristic curve was drawn, and the full three-dimensional flow field and level matching characteristics were analyzed in the typical working conditions. This provides reference for further aerodynamic optimization design.Secondly, in order to verify the numerical results, the paper built a test platform for this type of compressor. We completed the experimental design of this type of compressor,including test content, measuring points and measurements requirements, test safety control measures and data acquisition systems. Then a simple explanation was given with the measured parameters required for the experiment and measuring equipment, including pressure gauges, thermometers, flow meters, Laser Doppler Velocimenty (LDV) is used in experiments. Finally,according to the scheme of the experiment,the test platform of a two-stage compressor was built. And then, we give a brief introduction of the test platform and some components used in the experiment.
