The current seismic design methods has the advantages of small application range,and its essence is only the first order approximation method.So In this paper,We use the multi-scale method to establish the second-order equivalent system of the energy dissipation structure of Maxwell damper,and obtain the random response variance expression of the equivalent system,and the design method of earthquake action value based on seismic code of China.1.By that the relaxation time constants of Maxwell fluid damper in engineering practice are all small and the dynamic characteristics of general linear viscoelastically damped structure are fully determined by its free vibration properties,reconstruct the equation,the multi-scale method of small parameter perturbation principle is introduced,and the equivalent criterion of natural vibration is used.then the first-order and second-order approximately equivalent system of above mentioned structure are obtained,Which makes it possible that the response spectrum technique can be applied to predict the maximum responses of structure.Then promote this method to the generalized Maxwell damper structure.It is verified in comparison with exact solutions that the accuracy of the proposed method is superior to that of the modal strain energy method.Within the scope of the seismic code of China,When the structural additional damping ratio is less than 30%,the error of the second-order approximately equivalent system for the regular above-mentioned structure in engineering practice is less than 0.5%?2.Based on the derivation process and equivalent criterion of multi-scale method in single-degree-of-freedom vibration damping structure,the second-order equivalent system of multi-degree-of-freedom Maxwell damper structure is established by rigorous derivation.Then the transient response expression of the structural system is obtained.By comparing and analyzing the examples,it is shown that the second-order equivalent system obtained by multi-scale method is superior to the modal strain energy method.3.Finally,the response variance of the structural system is decomposed,and through a series of rigorous mathematical derivation,the smooth response variance expression of the structural system becomes a linear combination of second order standard oscillator response variance,and the response spectrum can be directly used to design the seismic action.
