BIM is the most advanced technology in the construction of the whole life cycle of the construction project,especially in recent years,the rapid development of China's construction industry manifesting the importance of its unusual.With the increasingly prominent problems of energy and environment,green and sustainable development has been put on the agenda.BIM has the advantages as follows:the completeness of the parameter;the integration of the visualization;the coordination;the simulation and optimization;available graphing.This makes the research and development of BIM containing great potential.The Smart City in a technical perspective:Based on information,knowledge and resources as the core,with a new generation of information technology as the core supporting means,in high speed optical fiber as the foundation,through extensive access to information and a thorough perception of the environment and the scientific and effective information processing.The social benefits:in order to innovative city management mode and improving the efficiency of operation of the city,improving the city public service level,to achieve smart economic,smart flowing,smart environment,smart public,smart home furnishing and smart public management targets,achieving smart of population,industry,land,space,environment,social activities and fields of public service and a new development model.Although BIM technology can benefit people in theory,it is a long way to go before people really benefiting from BIM.The key is to achieve the BIM "landing".This paper is based on the BIM need to "landing" in reality,the light steel house of assemble type project as the research object,through software development,signal processing,building simulation software and other means to expand BIM in the whole life cycle(especially in the operation and maintenance stage)application scope,which are combined with the structure health monitoring,the ability to give the building of "perception" of its own,in order to realize the intelligent building and smart city,for the people,to better serving the society.
