The safety of typical road in mount ain regions is com posed of people,vehicles,roads and environmental factors interact to form a complex problem.Currently,most researches at home and abroad concentrate on roads and vehicles,the research on the factors of driving safety awareness is relatively few,and th e choice of ro ad environment is generally highway or city road,ra rely for the typical road in mountainous areas.The visual system is the m ain source of the driver’s information in the driving process.Co nsidering the frequent road traf fic accidents in mountainous areas,it it’s necessary to study the driver’ s visual characteristics of typical roads in mountainous areas,so as to provide favorab le basis for im proving traffic safety in mountainous areas,so it is meaningful to study the visual characteristics of typical road drivers in mountainous areas.In this paper,the visual characteristics of the typical road driver in m ountainous areas are tested,and the visu al characteristics of driv ers with different driving proficiency are analyzed and researched on th e curved sections of straight line and different radius.This paper adopts the principal component analysis method to establish the driver’s proficiency evaluation model and verifies its rationality by analyzing the difference of the m ain behaviors o f gaze and scanning behavior param eters in the driving human eye behavior.The main results of this paper are:(1)in typical roads in m ountainous areas,driving experience has a significant impact on the driver’s dynamic visual characteristics,driving experience with fewer drivers’ eye movement behavior is more active,resulting in a greater visual load,compared to driv ing experienced driver s are more prone to fatigue.(2)The driv er’s gaze area is m ainly concentrated in [-0.5m,0.5m],the horizontal gaze angle is distributed in [-5°,10°].The influence of driving proficiency on the behavior of gaze is shown to be m ore concentrated in the gaze area of sk illed motorists,the efficiency of obtaining information is higher,the visual search frequency is low,the change rate of the horizontal gaze angle is proportional to the driving proficiency.The more abundant the driving experi ence,the greater th e change of the horizontal gaze angle;(3)The change of the angle of the vertical note has no obvious relationship with the d riving proficiency;The driver’s scanning duration is m ainly distributed in [50ms,150ms],the scanning speed is [50 °/s,100 °/s],the sweep range is [ 0,50°].The influence of the driver’s g lance behavior is,the s canning duration of skilled drivers is long,the scanning speed is slow,the visual search frequency is low,the efficiency of obtaining traffic information is high;the scanning duration of unskilled driver is short,the scanning speed is fast,the visual search frequency is high,the visual system loads are large and the visual fa tigue is m ore easily produced.The driving proficiency is no t correlated with the scanning amplitude.(4)By analysing the difference of the eye m ovement parameters of the driving experience,using the principal component analysis m ethod to es tablish the driving pr oficiency evaluation model,select the gaze area,the horizontal gaze angle,the vertical gaze an gle,scanning duration,scanning speed,scanning range of the main component factors that have obvious difference,get the m ain component scoring equations of typical road driving proficiency in m ountainous area,and if the main component score of the driver is greater than zero,the driver is skilled driving in the typical road in mountainous area.The results of this paper can be used to evaluate the driving proficiency of road traffic practitioners in mount ainous areas,standardize the driving level of people and reduce safety accidents.At the same time,the analysis results of visual characteristics can also be used in the design of auxiliary driving equipment,and provides risk warning according to the driver’s visual characteristics analysis.
