Centrifugal pumps are widely used in industry.Impeller acts as an important component of centrifugal pumps,and the design of it will have a direct impact on the performance of centrifugal pumps.The force of the impeller receiving in the centrifugal pump is very complicated.It is not only affected by the centrifugal force produced by the its rotation,but also affected by the impact force of the fluid on the blade under the condition of high-speed movement.The traditional design uses statistical empirical formula to design the size’s parameters of impeller.But the disadvantage is that there is no numerical simulation of the internal flow state of the impeller.The specific force of the impeller can not be known,and the design efficiency is low.The use of computational fluid dynamics(CFD)and finite element analysis(FEA)in the field of rotating machinery provides a convenient condition for the design of centrifugal pump impellers.In this paper,hydraulic calculation and design of centrifugal pump’s parameters are carried out by using the method of velocity calculation.The 3D modeling of impeller and volute is carried out by using SolidWorks.The 3D modeling is introduced into ANSYS Workbench to extract the flow field of the model,and the flow field in the centrifugal pump is simulated and analyzed by using software of Fluent.According to the result of simulation,the optimized scheme is proposed by changing the key dimension parameters of the impeller and design efficiency is improved.In this paper,the traditional calculation method was adopted to design the basic parameters of the centrifugal pump impeller,and then the optimization is achieved by means of modern CAD(computer aided design).The performance of the impeller is improved by optimizing the design,and the overall design cycle is shortened,and the production cost is reduced.In the process of design,simulation,analysis and optimization,a new method of design of product is summarized.
