Spiral bevel gear is mainly used as a basic mechanical transmission component between crossing shafts.It is widely used in aircraft,shipbuilding,automobile and other industries.In this paper,tooth contact analysis(TCA)and the influence rule of pinion control parameters on tooth contact situation have been studied.It can provide theoretical basis for authoring special cutting software of gear and processing parameters for gear production.In this paper,the big gear of spiral bevel gear was processed by formate,the pinion was processed by modified roll.(Referred to as the SFM).The principal jobs of this paper include the following four aspects:(1)In this paper,the related problems of the tooth surface meshing equation,conjugate tooth surface induced curvature and gear cutting calculation are discussed,based on spiral bevel gear meshing theory.And the theoretical tooth surface equation of hypoid gear is established by the principle of gear meshing.Tooth surface equation is calculated by MATLAB software.Finally,the solid model is constructed by SolidWorks.And the mathematical model and the computer program of TCA are established based on the theory of spiral bevel gear tooth contact analysis.The principle of tooth contact zone and the motion curve in the process of TCA are discussed.The program of TCA is written in MATLAB software.(2)Several pinion control parameters of different correction are given in this paper.Using the analysis of TCA,the influence of the control accuracy of parameters of pinion to tooth contact is studied.The rule of influence the cutter tooth profile angle,vertical round,pitch cone distance,tooth length contact coefficient and radial cutter position to the tooth contact condition is summarized.(3)The influence rules of two small gear control parameters on the tooth face contact conditions are summarized.The effects of small gear control parameters on a series of different ratio gear are summarized in this paper.
